Individual Courses
Looking for something other than a degree program? You can take college-level courses to fill an educational or professional gap, or as a required credited course that can be transferred to another educational institution. Talk with an enrollment advisor about how an individual course can help fulfill your goals.
About Individual Courses at University of Phoenix
University of Phoenix offers numerous associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s courses that can be taken individually in a wide variety of subjects. Whether you’re looking to transfer to another educational institution, grow your knowledge professionally or personally, you’ll likely find one or more courses that will suit your needs. Our individual courses are also a great introduction to our unique student experience.
You’ll earn college-level credit for these individual courses, which may be transferable to a degree at University of Phoenix—or elsewhere. If you plan to transfer credits to a degree program, please be sure to confirm credit is accepted at your educational institution.
Individual courses are many of the same ones offered in our degree programs, and are presented in two formats:
- Associate’s courses are conducted online for nine weeks and are highly structured. If you’ve been out of school for a while, or are new to college or online learning, you might consider this format.
- Bachelor’s and Master’s courses are offered online or at a local campus and typically last five to six weeks.

Transferability of credit is at the discretion of the receiving institution. It is the student's responsibility to confirm whether or not credits earned at University of Phoenix will be accepted by another institution of the student's choice. While widely available, not all courses are available to residents of all states. Please check with a University Enrollment Advisor.
