This course reviews small business accounting software needs.  Participants will learn how to select the appropriate accounting software for their small business.

ENCEU1030 Financial Strategies for the Entrepreneur

This course will examine specific finance strategies that can increase competitiveness and profitability. An introduction of financial ratios will also be discussed, which will give financial managers the ability to measure the financial health of the company.

ENCEU1040 Strategic Investing for the Entrepreneur

This course examines the investment strategies available for small businesses. Specific financial instruments that are most beneficial to small business are introduced. In addition, tools and strategies to help determine optimal capital investment will be discussed.

ENCEU1050 Taxation for the Entrepreneur I: Basics

This course assists entrepreneurs in developing basic understanding of business taxation and explores government filing requirements so that entrepreneurs are in compliance with tax laws.  In addition, it will also cover an introduction to the basic understanding of income tax concepts, Internal Revenue Service forms required for small businesses, and proper taxation planning methods.

ENCEU1060 Taxation for the Entrepreneur II: Compliance

This course provides an overview of taxable and non-taxable situations that are commonly faced by entrepreneurs. The course will also discuss gross income, taxable income realization, recognition issues, deductibility of business expenses and losses, tax credits, filing requirements of annual informational returns, different tax accounting methods, and reporting periods.

ENCEU1070 The Ethical Entrepreneur

This course focuses on defining the concept of business ethics for the entrepreneur and the entrepreneurial organization.  Entrepreneurs will understand the benefit an ethical business culture provides to the business and to the “bottom line.”     

ENCEU1080 The Legal Entrepreneur

This course examines the essentials of state and federal laws as they apply to the legal relationships between partners, the government (local, state and federal), employees, investors, suppliers, and customers.  The legal life cycle of the organization, from the start-up to dissolution or sale, will also be discussed.

ENCEU1090 Human Capital and the Entrepreneur: Attracting and Keeping the Right Employees

This course focuses on how to attract the right human capital and then how to engage that capital by creating a unique and differentiated organizational culture that attracts talented employees. The process for developing and empowering employees by making them part of the organization’s mission, goals and success will also be covered.

ENCEU1110 Understanding the Basics of Marketing

This course will examine the basic marketing principals used by an entrepreneur. In addition, it focuses on key marketing fundamentals and principals and how to build a successful framework for marketing within the organizational environment.

ENCEU1120 Building the Marketing Plan for the Entrepreneur

This course will examine the marketing department of an organization and how to increase its effectiveness in terms of either helping to drive increased revenues or increasing its customer base. The best ways to formulate, develop, and implement a marketing plan to emphasize the strategic and tactical objectives of the organization will be examined.

ENCEU1160 Strategic Planning for Entrepreneurs

This course describes the SWOT analysis as a tool to aid the entrepreneur in strategic planning. It also reviews shaping the mission, vision, and values, statements of a new business; analysis of the external and internal environments; research and development; and the metrics for measuring success.

ENCEU1170 Finding and Developing Capital for New Ventures

This course examines the process of securing capital investments to finance the capital requirements of an entrepreneur. Additionally, the benefits and drawbacks of each source will be reviewed.
