April is Financial Literacy Month!
Week 1: Introduction
April is National Financial Literacy Month. You might ask, “What does this have to do with me?”
Make informed decisions
Well, as a college student, you make decisions each day about how to spend and how to save your money. Financial literacy is important to understand those choices.
To better prepare you for financial excellence, we will send you weekly tips on important topics throughout April.
Visit the Life Resource Center
Because we care about your success as a student, we’d like to highlight the Life Resource Center. This center provides information, resources and links that address many different areas of your life — please take advantage of it. Access the center on the student website in the Services section under the Program tab.
Understand your tax benefits
Did you know that paying for your education may provide certain tax benefits? If you’re making payments on a loan, the interest paid might be deductible. To learn more about these tax benefits, we suggest you review Internal Revenue Service Publication 970: Tax Benefits for Education.
If you have questions, please contact me at kim.murphy@phoenix.edu. I look forward to hearing from you!
