University of Phoenix Tuition Freeze
College tuition rates across the country increase an average of 8 percent annually — but that doesn’t mean yours has to. University of Phoenix is offering a Tuition Freeze for any student who attends a class in a degree program from now through June 30, 2013 and meets other eligibility requirements.
Whether you’re a new student, currently enrolled or considering an advanced degree, your tuition and resource fees will remain at your current rate until you graduate. Lapsed in attendance? Don’t worry — you can take advantage of this program as long as you re-enroll between October 12, 2012 and June 30, 2013 and maintain consistent enrollment. Take the guesswork out of pricing your degree and focus on what matters most — earning it.

For eligible students, the Tuition Freeze holds their per-credit hour tuition and fees at the rates denoted in the tuition schedule that was in effect on July 1, 2012. Current, new students and those who re-enroll will not incur increases to tuition as long as they have stayed consistently enrolled by having posted attendance once in the past 30 calendar days.
The Tuition Freeze is available to students who:
Attend a credit-bearing class in a degree program between October 12, 2012 and June 30, 2013 and thereafter maintain consistent enrollment. Consistent enrollment is maintained as long as a student has posted attendance in a University of Phoenix credit-bearing class at least once within the past 30 days. If at any time their consistent enrollment lapses, students will lose further eligibility to this Tuition Freeze.
Upon successful completion of a degree program at the degree level referenced in the student’s enrollment agreement existing on June 30, 2013, a student’s eligibility in the Tuition Freeze will be terminated.
Degree graduation time cannot exceed the following deadlines from the first date of attendance in the relevant degree program:
- Associate degree: 5 years
- Bachelor’s degree: 8 years
- Master’s degree: 5 years
- Doctoral degree: 9 years
If a student changes the level of his or her degree program (i.e., from associate to bachelor’s) after June 30, 2013, the student will lose eligibility to this Tuition Freeze, even if he or she has maintained consistent enrollment as defined above.
This Tuition Freeze does not apply to students enrolling in certificate programs. Except as provided for above, this Tuition Freeze is valid for one degree program only and cannot be combined with any other promotion or offer, with the exception of the New Student Education Grant or the Thinking Ahead Grant, unless specified in writing by the University. Additionally, employees of Apollo Group Inc. or its subsidiaries, and their spouses and children, are ineligible for this Tuition Freeze.
