Julie S.
Degree: Bachelor of Science in Information Technology/Software Engineering
Hometown: Bozeman, MT
Julie is just four classes away from finishing strong. During high school she was struck with a debilitating depression that has caused numerous periods in which she was unable to function. Her depression made it hard to hold onto steady employment and attend school with any regularity which added financial struggles to her life. This was very hard for Julie to come to terms with. In high school, she was valedictorian of her class and was used to receiving honors for her academics. “Years ago, accomplishments in my life were many. I was a National Merit semi-finalist, won awards for essays I had written, graduated as high school valedictorian, received many music awards for my piano skills, was awarded scholarships to different colleges, and was inducted into Eta Kappa Nu (a college engineering honor society),” Julie explains.
She has spent the last 30 years trying to complete that degree. Now Julie is healthy and prepared to finish what she started, “A degree from University of Phoenix would increase my self-confidence and give me the knowledge to turn my life around and finally reach my full potential.”
