Tracie G.

Tracie G.

Degree: Bachelor of Science in Health Administration with a Concentration in Health Management

Hometown: Hollandale, MS

Soon after starting college, Tracie became a single mother of two young girls. Understandably, Tracie’s priorities shifted from her personal goal of completing a degree to the needs of her children. Since leaving school Tracie has worked dead end jobs and is ready to get back on track. “Not having a college degree has affected my life in many ways. I work job after dead end job that goes no where. I never qualify for the promotions I want because I do not have a college degree,” Tracie explains.

Tracie wants to use her degree to help children in her local school district. She currently volunteers her time but she’s ready to step up her contribution. “I volunteer my time to our local school district but with a college degree I could see myself really helping the children in our community. If I can reach one child I can sleep better knowing that I was able to help someone.”

Tracie is a hard worker with a passion for education. The only obstacle holding her back from completing her degree is the financial support. Tracie will be using the Focus to the FinishSM scholarship to earn her bachelor’s degree.
