While fulfilling her role as a wife and mother, working more than full time and attending University of Phoenix for a degree in Accounting, Pamela filled her free time with volunteerism and community service. She says: “I have lived my life enjoying the opportunity to help others less fortunate than me.” Pamela saw the Paying it Forward® Scholarship as another chance to do just that. Attending the University of Phoenix changed Pamela’s life. She was honored to give the gift of an education to her bright and hard-working daughter Catrina.
Catrina L.
Recipient – Lebanon, OR
Catrina has always loved education and longed to pursue a college degree, but the responsibilities of her marriage, raising children and working full time have obligated her to put this dream on hold. And Catrina would not have it any other way; having children has helped her focus her goal toward work in elementary education. She wants to make a difference in the lives of youth from an early age. Catrina has decided to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in Human Resource Management. “I would have an opportunity to see many of my goals come to light and be able to help shape our world’s future,” she explains.
