First Chance® Scholarship Program
The First Chance® Scholarship Program was created in 2006 to promote the life-changing benefits of education and honor individuals who have shown desire to improve their lives and the lives of those around them through education. The annual program will empower 100 individuals to complete bachelor’s degrees through full-tuition scholarships to University of Phoenix.

Kids’ Chance Scholarship Program
Kids’ Chance and the University of Phoenix are teaming up to create the Kids’ Chance Scholarship Program to help give deserving individuals the opportunity to receive an education and thus, prepare themselves for a better future. The Kids’ Chance program was founded in 1988 to serve as a vehicle to provide need-based scholarships to the families of seriously injured workers. The scholarship will cover full-tuition and fees for either an undergraduate or master’s degree program. Ten (10) scholarships will be awarded annually.

Paying It Forward® Scholarship Program
University of Phoenix is proud to announce the 2009 Paying It Forward® Scholarship Program. University of Phoenix Alumni who have graduated from University of Phoenix with either a bachelor, master or doctoral degree are eligible to nominate a deserving individual to be awarded a full-tuition scholarship towards an undergraduate degree program of their choice. Recipients may choose to attend a University of Phoenix on- ground campus or may attend University of Phoenix online. Thirty (30) scholarships will be awarded.

University of Phoenix AMVETS Scholarship
AMVETS and University of Phoenix have established a relationship to offer this Scholarship Program. The program was created with the belief that members of our active military, veterans and their families wish to be successful and would like to have a better quality of life for themselves and their families, and it all starts with education. Fifty (50) scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $4,000. Scholarship award is a non-cash credit to each recipients University of Phoenix account. Applicable degree programs: associates, bachelor's or master's.

University of Phoenix Asia/Pacific Military Scholarship Program
The University of Phoenix is pleased to announce that it has established scholarship opportunities for overseas military individuals in the Asia/Pacific theaters who wish to further their education. The program was created with the belief that members of our active military and their families wish to be successful and would like to have a better quality of life for themselves and their families, and it all starts with education. Up to eight (8) $4,000 tuition scholarships will be awarded to individuals pursing either a Master of Business Administration or Master of Education degree at a University of Phoenix on-ground campus in Asia/Pacific. Scholarship award is a noncash credit to each recipients University of Phoenix account to apply toward tuition and fees. Online programs are excluded.

University of Phoenix Goodwill Scholarship Program
University of Phoenix is pleased to partner with Goodwill of Central Arizona to offer scholarship opportunities to young men and women. Goodwill of Central Arizona was established in 1947 to serve as a vehicle to provide people with disabilities or people who would otherwise face obstacles to entering the workforce. Four (4) full-tuition scholarships will be awarded. Two scholarships will be awarded in the fall and two scholarships will be awarded in the spring. These scholarships are directed toward individuals who have received services through Goodwill and can be used toward an undergraduate degree program of choice. Recipients may choose to attend a University of Phoenix on-ground campus or may attend University of Phoenix online.

University of Phoenix is pleased to partner with League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) to offer scholarship opportunities to men and women. LULAC is the nation's oldest and largest Latino organization. Throughout its history, LULAC has committed itself to the principle that Latinos have equal access to opportunities in employment, education, housing and healthcare. The Mission of the League of United Latin American Citizens is to advance the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, health and civil rights of the Hispanic population of the United States. University of Phoenix has aligned with LULAC to provide full-tuition scholarships. The annual program will empower 25 individuals to complete either an undergraduate or masters degree program through University of Phoenix.

University of Phoenix Odessa Chambliss Quality of Life Nursing Scholarship
Odessa Chambliss was the mother of Lucille O'Neal and grandmother of Shaquille O'Neal and Ayesha Harrison - all University of Phoenix graduates. The Odessa Chambliss Quality of Life Fund was established in 1998, after her death, to honor her commitment to the nursing profession for over 16 years. Despite receiving a cancer diagnosis in 1993, she loved her job and showed compassion for her patients while fighting a health care battle of her own. In her honor, Odessa's family hopes to improve the quality of someone else's life through this fund for scholarships and cancer research.

University of Phoenix Bay Area Campus scholarship was established in honor of Helen Foletta, a truly remarkable and inspirational woman. She started school as a single parent of six children ranging in grades from kindergarten to high school. Realizing the importance of higher education, she financed her collegiate education part time by working with University of Phoenix founder, John Sperling as his first employee. Later, Helen was able to become a full time student by continuing her University of Phoenix employment and other miscellaneous jobs. While working full time, going to school full time, and caring for her children, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and her Masters of Arts in Education!
The University of Phoenix Bay Area Campus recognizes that many individuals aspire to further their career through education therefore creating this scholarship. Through the Helen Foletta scholarship, single parents are empowered to reach their academic goals or pursue second careers. University of Phoenix programs are tailored to meet the needs of these students' busy schedules. The Helen Foletta Scholarship will be awarded to one student to cover classes up to the end of the student's program, or up to 24 credits, whichever comes first. The University of Phoenix- Helen Foletta Scholarship - is directed towards a University of Phoenix student attending the Bay Area Campus in California. No exceptions.

In the fall of 2008 the University of Phoenix, Oregon Campus lost a dear friend and valued employee of many years. In his memory, the Oregon Campus established the Paul "Pablo" Reiter, scholarship fund to honor his many contributions to the University and to the community at large. Pablo worked tirelessly to create a positive environment for staff and students alike, sharing his quick-witted sense of humor at every opportunity. He inspired those around him and instilled a feeling of camaraderie and cooperation among his coworkers. He passed along his passion for life by taking on any challenge, and smiling all the while. Whether surfing with his son, teaching art at the local school, or encouraging others to reach their educational goals, Pablo enjoyed being a part of life, not a bystander.
