A special graduation ceremony
Brandon Cole was serving his country overseas in the Middle East when his graduation ceremony took place. But this Navy man didn’t go unnoticed. The University of Phoenix® recognized the commitment this student, and now alumnus, has to his country and his education, and honored him with a special ceremony.
University of Phoenix Indianapolis campus staff quickly engaged and created a celebratory atmosphere at the campus. Cole attended his very own graduation ceremony in July for earning his Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree.
City of Indianapolis honors alumni chapter
The Indianapolis Alumni Chapter received recognition from the Office of the Mayor recently for their support for new graduates and engagement efforts within the local community. “The mission of the chapter is to be involved in the community,” says T. Tanner-Starks, MAOM, Indianapolis Alumni Chapter president. “We were recognized for the events we were involved in over the course of this year,” adds Tanner-Starks.
The chapter has 232 members and this year many of them have been involved in a variety of walks, volunteered at the local food bank, participated in the back to school campaign for Boys and Girls Club and have been active in local politics. The plan for next year is more community involvement and professional or development events for chapter members.
