    • Illustrate the significance of fungi in disease and medicine.
    • Illustrate the importance of mycotoxins.

    Characteristics, Diversity, and Physiology of Fungi

    • Identify characteristics common to fungi that distinguish them from other forms of life.
    • Describe fungal morphology, physiology, and growth.
    • Describe the diversity of kingdom fungi.

    Microsporidia, Chytridiomycota, Blastocladiomycota, and Neocallimastigomycota

    • Compare important members of the phyla Microsporidia, Chytridiomycota, Blastocladiomycota, and Neocallimastigomycota.
    • Differentiate defining characteristics of the phyla Microsporidia, Chytridiomycota, Blastocladiomycota, and Neocallimastigomycota.

    Glomeromycota, Ascomycota, and Basidiomycota

    • Compare important members of the phyla Glomeromycota, Ascomycota, and Basidiomycota.

    Fungus-Like Organisms and Fungal Partnerships
