Course level: Lower Division
This is the capstone course for retail fundamentals. The course provides students with the opportunity to integrate and apply learning from their program of student in a comprehensive manner. Students will demonstrate competency and skills in the leadership and supervisory function of retailing. Emphasis will be on a practical skill-building approach to leadership and supervision so students develop skills that can be applied within the retail environment. Students will examine leadership styles, management principles, ethics and social responsibility, conflict resolution, and culturally diverse aspects of leadership.
