"Students will work toward completing a draft of the dissertation proposal with their dissertation Chair. While working on their proposals, students will discuss ethical issues associated with conducting research with human participants. Students will discuss, at a conceptual level, the dissertation proposal quality review and the Institutional Review Board review processes. Competency A: Evaluate human subjects’ requirements and ethical issues in conducting research with human subjects as it relates to proposed dissertation study. Competency B: Complete and pass the Collaborative Institute Training Initiative refresher research ethics education modules required by the UOPX Institutional Review Board (IRB). Competency C: Demonstrate an understanding of the UOPX dissertation proposal quality review and IRB review process. Competency D: Demonstrate significant progress on your dissertation proposal. Competency E: Refine your action plan for working with the dissertation Chair to complete and submit the dissertation proposal."
