This course covers distributed computing, middleware, and industry standards, as related to the enterprise data repository. Data warehousing, data mining, and data marts are covered from an enterprise perspective.

  • Identify an organization’s data warehouse requirements by analyzing organizational strategies and processes as they relate to a business intelligence solution.
  • Design a technical architecture and schema for a data warehouse.
  • Create a data warehouse database in Microsoft® SQL Server®.

  • Assess the business intelligence needs of an organization.
  • Identify the technical system requirements necessary to implement a small-scale data warehouse.
  • Design the technical landscape to support a small-scale data warehouse with enterprise integrations.

  • Design an enterprise-level Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) data process that meets specified business requirements.
  • Recommend ETL software, extensions, and integrations for a given scenario.
  • Design an ETL package in Microsoft® SQL Service Integration Services (SSIS) that meets specified organization requirements.
  • Validate the success of an ETL process.

  • Determine the business intelligence needs of an organization based on how data is currently used within the enterprise.
  • Develop a data mining strategy for an organization to support its organizational strategies.
  • Design queries to solve data analysis problems.
  • Implement queries using Microsoft® SQL Server®.

  • Determine an organization’s dashboard and report content requirements.
  • Design dashboards that accurately reflect the data available.
  • Build data visualizations (i.e., dashboards) that meet the end-user’s needs.
