What you'll study
As a large segment of the United States population enters retirement and old age in the coming years, the need for services that address the unique circumstances of these individuals will increase. The Bachelor of Science in Human Services with a concentration in Gerontology (Certificate Track) prepares you to provide the specialized services for this growing population early in your career. You'll explore social programs, retirement issues, personal care needs and current social systems that affect this population.
To help you gain job skills earlier in your program, the certificate option allows you to move core courses toward the front of your degree program. The certificate you earn will be an additional credential, which you can leverage to help you get a new position or promotion.
