Working in their chosen industry for an average of 19 years, our College of Education faculty members also have an average of seven years teaching with University of Phoenix. This blended experience means our students are offered an education of theory and practice from someone who has firsthand knowledge in both career and classroom.

00:18 We have been proudly offering programs for educators since 1983.
00:22 The University of Phoenix College of Education has been in existence for more than 30 years and has graduated over 86,000 individuals.
00:29 In addition, we were one of the first institutions of higher education to offer teacher education online.
00:36 Our mission is to prepare candidates that possess the knowledge, skills, dispositions, and dedication to life-long learning that will support their practice as educational professionals.
00:46 The College of Education has a robust portfolio of program offerings in the area of initial teacher preparation, specializing in elementary, early childhood, secondary, liberal studies, and special education; as well as degree programs for current teacher who want to enhance their careers in the areas of administration and supervision, curriculum and instruction, and adult education and training.
01:08 These offerings are available at the local campus, online, or in a blended campus-online option.
01:13 In addition, we have a collection of continuing teacher education courses in the areas of reading, STEM, Spanish for educators, teaching methods, and career and technical education, just to name a few.

01:35 As a learning community of practice, we provide our students with access to a variety of resources, including a collection of toolkits focused on hot topics in education, a technical resource library, and suggestions to various digital resources with more than 10,000 primary-source videos that are aligned to subject area and grade level for creating robust lesson plans.
