Welcome to the University of Phoenix® College of Security and Criminal Justice. Like you, we are passionate about the safety and security of our communities. We believe that a solid educational foundation is critical to lead in a world where justice, service and security grow more challenging every day.
My name is Spider Marks, executive dean of the College of Security and Criminal Justice, and a retired Army General. I’ve seen firsthand, in global hot spots, where justice and security issues are ignored, local societies suffer. Where education is neglected, economies struggle. We are blessed as students, faculty members and administrators here at the College of Security and Criminal Justice to make a significant impact in our lives and in the lives of others. Our focus on service makes a difference and sets an example for others.
Our leadership and management focused curricula are developed and taught by faculty with experience in the specialized fields we serve. Whether you are interested in government, criminal justice or private industry security, your education will bring together theory and real-life experiences of industry leaders such as chiefs of police, district attorneys, wardens and security industry executives.
You may already work in one of these demanding fields, and we appreciate the significance of your daily responsibilities. That’s why we design our programs with your needs, aspirations and schedule in mind. We have served working professionals for over 30 years with flexible programs that let you achieve your goals on your time. Additionally, some of your relevant experience may be applied toward college credits.
I salute your commitment to serve and your ambition to achieve, and I sincerely hope that you’ll choose us to help you reach your goals.
