Frequently asked questions

If you meet admission requirements for your program, University of Phoenix is open to students striving for varied levels of education from first-time enrollees for an associate degree to a student working toward their master's.

Completing an admissions application and meeting admission requirements is all you need to apply. An Enrollment Representative is ready to help you through the process.

A college degree of any level can be helpful in the job marketplace. Having the ability to pursue opportunities in a new direction starts with higher education.

Prior coursework from a degree-granting institution with institutional accreditation, or credit earned through a national testing program such as the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), DANTES or Advanced Placement, may be transferable, depending on your grades/scores. Your professional training or military training may also be converted into academic credits.

Not at all. Your GPA will be determined by the credits earned in residence at University of Phoenix.

The transfer of credits is at the discretion of the receiving institution. University of Phoenix can perform a pre-evaluation using your unofficial transcripts to give you an idea of how your transfer credits may apply to your selected program.  Officially, you need to complete the admissions form, provide information about all schools attended, and sign the transfer request form. When all forms and transcripts are received, you’ll know for sure what transfer credits will apply.

Earned community college credits may be transferable to your next level of learning. Speak with your Enrollment Representative about specific program requirements.

Your experience during your military service could translate into college credit. We can obtain your records and review to see if credit applies. The University uses ACE credit recommendations when evaluating military service.

List your previous military experience on your application for admission and sign a transcript request form. We will request those military transcripts for you.
