The requirement not to discriminate in the education programs or activities extends to admission and employment and inquiries about the application of Title IX and 34 C.F.R. Part 106 may be referred to the University’s Title IX Coordinator, to the [Assistant Secretary of Education](https://ocrcas.ed.gov/contact-ocr) or both.

Individuals who believe they have experienced sex discrimination, harassment, and/or retaliation in violation of the University’s [Equal Opportunity, Harassment and Nondiscrimination policy ](/content/dam/edu/about/doc/equal-opportunity-harrassment-and-nondiscrimination-policy.pdf) should contact the University's Title IX Coordinator:

## Pregnant and parenting students

Since the passage of Title IX, sex discrimination - including discrimination on the basis of pregnancy, childbirth, and parental status - has been prohibited. Title IX regulations state that an institution that receives federal funding must not discriminate against any student on the basis of pregnancy or pregnancy-related conditions.

If you are a pregnant or parenting student, [download the Accommodations for Pregnancy, Parental Status and VAWA offenses policy](/content/dam/edu/about/doc/accommodations-for-pregnancy-parental-status-and-vawa-offenses.pdf). Feel free to contact the [Title IX Office](mailto:Title.IXUOP@phoenix.edu) if you have any questions about what you may be entitled to under Title IX.
