Important Note:

Degree seeking students who meet the eligibility requirements may participate in a commencement ceremony. Certificate students are not eligible to participate in commencement ceremonies. One exception- students in a Post Master's Certificate/Family Nurse Practitioner program who meet eligibility requirements may participate in a ceremony.

We are planning in-person commencement ceremonies for you to attend. We are closely monitoring COVID-19-related health recommendations from state, federal and local government agencies. We are also working with the applicable venues regarding the ability to accommodate our ceremony needs. This includes seating capacities especially if social distancing is required. Knowing this possibility, we may have to limit or not allow guests and will communicate any further changes as they are known.

If we are able to hold an in-person ceremony, masks and social distancing may be required. Please keep in mind, given the unpredictability of the COVID-19 virus, that we may have to cancel or postpone a commencement should new recommendations guide us to do so.

We know that some of our graduates will need to make travel plans to be in attendance so please be assured, if we do need to cancel, the University of Phoenix will do so as soon as possible. Please do NOT make travel plans until a ceremony has been opened for registration and confirmed.
