Melvin Hagan, PhD
Mel Hagan has enjoyed a varied career path spanning more than 30 years—covering the military, social services, human resources, mediation and adult education.
Based in Okinawa, Japan since 1968, Mel served more than 21 years in the United States Air Force—14 as a Chinese Mandarin linguist and seven as a leadership trainer. He retired as Chief Master Sergeant in 1986, when he entered civilian life as an instructor and education/training consultant. He currently is owner and operator of Okinawa-based TQ Enterprises, which provides training and consulting services.
His rich educational background includes a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Touro University International in 2004, a Masters in Human Relations in 2000, and an MSED in Instructional Technology in 1980.
Since 2006, Mel has been a faculty member at the University of Phoenix Asia/Pacific Military Campus. He is now Campus College Chair for its School of Business as well as its Graduate Business and Management programs. In addition to his chairing duties, he teaches online and campus courses in the College of Education. He also serves in the School of Advanced Studies as a Mentor and Dissertation Committee Member for students pursuing doctoral degrees.
