Dr. Barry Brooks and Kylene Lloyd Promoted at University of Phoenix Eastern Washington Campus

SPOKANE, WASH. , August 16, 2009 — University of Phoenix announced today the promotion of Barry Brooks, Ph.D., and Kylene Lloyd. Dr. Brooks been promoted to Director of Academic Affairs and Lloyd has been promoted to Director of Student and Financial Services for the University's Eastern Washington campus.

Dr. Brooks was previously the Associate Director of Academic Affairs for the University, where he successfully oversaw all academic operations, partnerships, programs and faculty for the growing campus. Dr. Brooks started at the University as program manager of the Business Graduate Department. He will now be primarily responsible for all academic operations for both the Spokane and Tri-Cities campuses.

Dr. Brooks received his Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from Capella University, Minneapolis, MN, a MS in Counseling/Psychology from Oregon State University, and a BA in Liberal Arts at Warner Pacific College in Portland, OR. He has taught for over five years for the University. Prior to joining the University of Phoenix, Dr. Brooks held an adjunct teaching position at the University of Idaho graduate school for 10 years. Dr. Brooks also owns Breakthrough Consulting, an organizational behavior consulting firm in Post Falls, Idaho.

Ms. Lloyd was previously in the role of Operations and Finance Manager for the University, where she successfully worked with both regional and central administration offices on financial compliance and academic standards, planned campus-wide events, and oversaw campus financial records. Lloyd joined the University in 2005 as an academic advisor. In her new capacity as Director of Student and Financial Services, she will manage all of the academic, finance and student services advisors at both the Spokane and Tri-Cities campuses.

Lloyd received her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Idaho in Moscow in 2002. Prior to starting full-time with the University, Lloyd worked as the assistant site director for Troy State University in Tampa, Florida, and managed guest services for the Aura Soma Lava Motel Spa and Bookstore in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. She was a social studies teacher for the Post Falls School District, and coordinated new student services at the University of Idaho.
