This course is designed to provide an orientation to the primary components of the Teacher Education Program. Students will be introduced to the program's progression and degree completion requirements. Field Experience, Electronic Resources, E-Portfolio, Student Teaching, and Teacher Work Sample will be discussed.
Graduate Alternative Pathway/Elementary Education Certificate
This graduate certificate is intended for students with no prior teaching experience. The guiding philosophy of the CERT/ALT-E is to build upon your existing skills, as well as knowledge from your undergraduate program, to help you become a confident and effective classroom teacher. Blending academic theory with relevant coursework, field experiences and student teaching, the curriculum is designed to align with national standards set by the Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI), and includes all the essential elements required to help prepare you for a career in teaching at the elementary level.
