Karen Diggs, IN
Karen Diggs has been a faculty member at University of Phoenix since 2008. Her professional experience in Information Systems and Technology is based on 15 years in the field, including eight years as the Chief Technology Officer at the K-12 educational level.
During her time with University of Phoenix she has taught courses in Communications and Management of Information Systems. This past year Karen became certified as a CFAL (Certified Faculty Assessment Liaison). She earned her undergraduate degree in Business Marketing and a Masters in Information Systems from University of Phoenix.
Before beginning her career path as a CTO in Information Systems and Technology, Karen worked in various technology positions. In 2012 she was among the first 32 Technology Leaders nationwide to earn a CETL (Certified Educational Technology Leadership) license. This is a three-year renewable license that is received through a rigorous two-part exam created by CoSN (Consortium for School Networking) and vetted by industry standards. CoSN is the premier professional association for school district technology leaders.
In her position as CTO, Karen has been a leader in introducing innovative technology in education, bringing the first successful BYOD initiative for grades 6 – 12 to the area where she works this past fall.
