Together, we’re changing the game

In collaboration with the Arizona Cardinals, we strive to empower future generations through education and prepare them for the game of life.

Official Education Partner of the Arizona Cardinals

University of Phoenix and the Arizona Cardinals are focused on encouraging the more than 44 million Americans who have started, but not yet completed their college degrees, to finish what they began.

We aim to help ensure that students of all ages have access to the tools they need to succeed in school. Throughout Arizona, we support community outreach programs that improve education, recognize exceptional teachers and reward students who excel in the classroom.

We aim to help ensure that students of all ages have access to the tools they need to succeed in school. Throughout Arizona, we support community outreach programs that improve education, recognize exceptional teachers and reward students who excel in the classroom.

We are offering 16 full-tuition scholarships to individuals who are as motivated as Cardinals Wide Receiver, Larry Fitzgerald, when it comes to completing their degrees. Each scholarship allows a prospective student the opportunity to complete an undergraduate or master’s degree at University of Phoenix.

Marquee Math Competition

Each spring, we co-host an annual Marquee Math Competition for Valley high school students at University of Phoenix Stadium®.

Participants are challenged to solve problems from a variety of math disciplines, including physics and geometry with football terminology, plays and statistics used as variables.

Last April, competing schools included Highland, Campo Verde, Mesquite, Mountain Pointe, Red Mountain, Tolleson, Westwood, Gilbert Classic Academy, University and Williams Field.

The math problems were created and graded by several University of Phoenix representatives: Daniel Mullins (Assistant Program Dean), Dr. Jennifer Fletcher (Program Dean) and Lindsey Jelle (Instructional Designer).

Donate to Educate

University of Phoenix and Arizona Cardinals Charities team up each football season to raise much-needed funding for local public schools and educational organizations. Money collected during the season is awarded the following fall in grants of up to $5,000 each.

During the off-season, Arizona Cardinals Charities accepts grant applications from Arizona nonprofits, schools and districts to receive funding raised from the Donate to Educate program. Recipients are notified in September each season.

Through Donate to Educate, your contributions are making a difference in the lives of Arizona students and educators.

Here’s how it works: At each Cardinals home game, fans are encouraged to enter the Arizona Cardinals Charities 50/50 raffle at University of Phoenix Stadium. Proceeds from selected games have achieved the following goals, and much more:

  • Put new technology and school supplies in Arizona classrooms
  • Promoted student health, wellness and literacy
  • Encouraged students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math

On September 7, 2017, grants were awarded to the following organizations:

  • Banner Health Foundation of Arizona
  • Boulder Creek Elementary Gilbert Public Schools
  • CASA Academy
  • Creighton Community Foundation, Inc.
  • Elevate Phoenix
  • Mesquite Elementary School
  • Mohave Valley Junior High

Do you know a teacher who’s a great team player? A true role model and leader?

We’ve joined forces with the Cardinals to support MVPs in the Classroom, a program that recognizes and rewards Arizona’s hardworking educators.

During the season, you can nominate your favorite teacher for this memorable honor. Three MVP teachers will be selected for each of eight home games and will receive the following prizes:

  • One Arizona Cardinals jersey
  • Four tickets to a regular-season game
  • Four VIP sideline passes
  • One $500 gift card to DonorsChoose.org for classroom supplies

Please visit us again during the season to download a nomination form from the Cardinals website.

Kids camps

University of Phoenix and the Arizona Cardinals share a passion for giving back to local communities. That’s why every football season, we offer co-sponsored football clinics for children living in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

In 2016, we welcomed children from Conley Elementary School, Quentin Elementary School, and St. Matthew School. At each camp, 150 students had the opportunity to interact with the Arizona Cardinals staff, the Cardinals team mascot “Big Red” and an Arizona Cardinals player.

Do you set a shining example for your school and community?

University of Phoenix and the Arizona Cardinals are honoring local classroom all-stars — students who display greatness both in and out of school.

Each season, we ask kids to tell us what makes them good role models. From those entries, 100 students are chosen to receive four tickets to an Arizona Cardinals home game.
