As a University of Phoenix location in California, the Palm Desert Learning Center offers both undergraduate and graduate courses, many of which can be taken through our Online Campus or on a local campus.
These courses are designed to help students get the degrees to which they aspire while still maintaining the responsibilities and commitments of their lives. Each on-campus course meets once a week, usually at a time convenient for working students. Students take only one course at a time. This allows them to focus on one topic at a time for efficient learning.
Master of Arts at the Palm Desert Learning Center for California teachers
One of the most popular programs at the Palm Desert Learning Center is the Master of Arts in Education. In addition to concentrations in Elementary Education and Secondary Education, the Palm Desert Learning Center offers the Curriculum and Instruction degree with concentrations in Computer Education and English as a Second Language.
The program in Computer Education helps prepare teachers to integrate technology into their educational strategies. Students complete 40 credits, including Action Research and Applications of Action Research. In addition to courses that focus on using computers in the classroom, the Palm Desert Learning Center in California also offers such courses as Designing and Producing Educational Technology and Instructional Multimedia Authoring. Faculty members hold advanced degrees and also have a wealth of professional experience in the fields they teach.
