University of Phoenix Employees Raise $46,000 for Salute a Soldier
Recently, University of Phoenix employees nationwide participated in a fundraising event to benefit Salute a Soldier.

$125,219 Donated to China Earthquake Relief Fund
Not only is Phoenix home to the University of Phoenix, but it is a sister city of Chengdu, China, which was devastated by 7.9 magnitude earthquake on May 12. University of Phoenix (owned by the Apollo Group) committed to a donation of $75,000 to help the stricken city and pledged to match all employee donations - up to $25,000.

Tips to Avoid Summer Learning Loss
Recent studies are showing that over the summertime months, children lose much of the knowledge they gain over the course of the previous school year. This phenomenon is known as summer learning loss, and according to research conducted by the John Hopkins Center for Summer Learning, all young people experience learning losses over the summer if they do not engage in educational activities.

University of Phoenix Launches National Food Drive
University of Phoenix and its parent company, Apollo Group, Inc., are kicking off their first-ever national Summer Food Drive at an employee event for all Phoenix-based employees on Saturday, June 14, from 1 to 4 p.m., at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.
