University of Phoenix Hosting Virtual Food Drive August 30 Through September 10

PHOENIX – For the second year, University of Phoenix, in partnership with Feeding America, will host a nationwide virtual food drive from Aug. 30 through Sept. 10. Students, staff, alumni, faculty and the public at more than 100 University of Phoenix locations are encouraged to make monetary donations online. The donations will go directly to the Feeding America member food bank(s) that support the local campus communities.

University of Phoenix has an extensive relationship with St. Mary’s Food Bank, a Feeding America network member, which provides support to the Phoenix community. The University has provided more than $1 million in sponsorships and contributions over the past 10 years directly in support of St. Mary’s Food Bank. In 2009, the University collected $12,000 through the virtual food drive, the equivalent of 84,000 meals that went directly to Feeding America member food banks serving University of Phoenix campus communities.
