Like many of our current doctoral learners, you will find that residencies are a highlight of the educational journey. They are enriching, rewarding experiences that transform your thinking, deepen your understanding, and allow you to network and form relationships with peers.
Program residencies and goals
Residencies support and expand on the education you receive throughout your online program. These credit-bearing, face-to-face three- to eight-day residencies are strategically placed throughout your degree program. You will develop leadership skills as you demonstrate critical thinking, develop solutions to complex problems, refine your research skills and build your leadership competencies.
Held in select cities around the country, residencies offer unique opportunities to network with professionals in your field of study. You will be under the guidance of faculty with scholarly and professional experience in the fields they teach. You will also study alongside other learners in an interdisciplinary setting, who bring a variety of professional and academic experiences to the classroom. (International students: Please read about our admissions requirements regarding travel to residencies in the U.S.)
All doctoral programs have residencies with the exception of the Post-Master's Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree. Each doctoral program has specific requirements and goals associated with each of its residencies.
Doctoral programs require three- to eight-day residencies in select cities. Please contact a University enrollment advisor for details.
