Meet Adrienne Quintana,
When Adrienne Quintana enrolled in the Bachelors of Science in Communication program with University of Phoenix® she didn’t expect to become a published author. But she found a natural fit to her ability to research and organize her thoughts. "A creative writing course I took as an elective early in my program sparked my interest in writing a novel," says Quintana whose debut novel Eruption published in January of this year. "I completed my first draft in just over two months."
Publisher’s Weekly says, "Quintana’s debut is a standard fast-paced techno-thriller, its momentum set more by intrigue than action as her characters question each other’s motives and loyalties." Eruption is receiving accolades and Quintana is hard at work on the sequel, "My contract with the publisher includes two more books. I hope to have the first draft of my second novel finished by the end of March."
Quintana learned early on that education was important. She put college on hold while she started her family, but her goal of earning a college degree always remained important. 'With my husband’s encouragement and support and the accessibility of an online classroom, I was able to make my dream a reality,' says Quintana. "Though my degree in communication[s] may not seem directly related to publishing, I think my experience can help alumni recognize that the skills gained through education can be used in a variety of pursuits."
