Find out more about the educational path this alum pursued.
Meet Rob Viduya,
College of Information Systems and Technology alumnus Rob Viduya expected that earning his degree would jump-start his career. What he didn’t expect was that his educational journey would give him the skills and confidence to pursue his goal of becoming an entrepreneur.
“I immediately began formulating ideas and plans based on my skills acquired in my studies,” explains Viduya. He was also working full-time for an IT department for a city entity at the time.
Recently, Viduya and a co-worker created Nspired Mobility, a new business to introduce a mobile app called Alertback. Available on iTunes®—and soon for Android™—the app is a safety tool that sends push notifications to relatives or caregivers of a child or other loved one when they arrive or depart specific locations, such as school, a friend’s home, after-school program or job. Originally developed with safety in mind for children and elderly individuals, small- and medium-sized businesses can also track employees’ delivery or service times and travel routes.
As a novice developer, Viduya is planning new mobile app designs to grow his business. And he knows that taking risks is part of being an entrepreneur. “One aspect I learned from my education at University of Phoenix is that there is surely no gain without a percentage of risk,” he says.
While widely available, not all programs are available in all locations or in both online and on-campus formats. Please check with a University Enrollment Representative by calling 866.766.0766.
