What does the future of nursing look like?

Over her 51-year nursing career, Connie Houser has experienced a lot of change. From what is taught in school to the roles of nurses on and off the hospital floor, the industry is much different than when she first started. And with technological advancements and evolutions in patient needs, she knows it will continue to change. With that in mind, Houser looks at the future of nursing through the lens of her own career.

In the fifth episode of the How Tomorrow Works podcast, Houser, an 18-year University of Phoenix nursing instructor, talks about what’s next in healthcare for both workers and consumers and connecting with others, no matter your industry. Connie brings her decades of nursing and education know-how to How Tomorrow Works this week. In this episode, she covers what healthcare looks like in 2020, what to expect next for the future of nursing, and the professional and personal reasons to pursue higher education.

Connie reflects the changes in remote learning she’s seen firsthand. As well as how that option can be a game-changer for students of any discipline. Then, we learn a little more about Connie in our lightning round, How Connie Works. It’s powerful to hear from someone who loves what they do as much as Connie does. We think you’ll feel it too.
