This course focuses on family and community involvement in early childhood education. Participants examine strategies for establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with culturally diverse families and communities. Effective communication, engagement, and school partnerships are also explored.

This course is not available for enrollment to residents of Alabama, Arkansas, and Kentucky.

  • Investigate resources that help families of children with special needs, including disabilities and giftedness.
  • Define individualized education plan (IEP), least restrictive environment (LRE), and inclusion.
  • Create effective strategies to build relationships with families of children with special needs.
