What you'll study

Around the world, security threats—including cyber espionage, malware and phishing—are intensifying the need for cyber security professionals, with the Bureau of Labor Statistics expecting 37 percent job growth between 2012 and 2022. To help prepare you for opportunities in this critical field, University of Phoenix offers a Bachelor of Science in Security Management with an Advanced Cyber Security Certificate (BSSEC/ACS).

Taught by experienced professionals in security and IT, our rigorous curriculum includes topics like cryptography, information assurance, enterprise security, risk management, and systems audit and control. You will participate in real-life scenarios through hands-on labs and simulations, and learn skills you can use immediately on the job.

To help you more quickly gain the knowledge employers want, we also offer a certificate option. Our certificate programs can help prepare you for key industry certifications from companies like CompTIA®, (ISC)2® and ISACA®. In addition, you can apply your certificate credits toward the completion of your degree.
