University of Phoenix to affiliate with University of Idaho

To advance our mission of providing our students with the best, most career-relevant education possible, University of Phoenix has entered into discussions with the University of Idaho (“U of I”) regarding a potential affiliation of our two institutions. The University of Phoenix has entered into an agreement to be acquired by a new non-profit entity, Four Three Education, Inc., of which the sole member is the University of Idaho Board of Regents. After appropriate legal, accreditation and regulatory approvals, the sale will close and will provide a path to full non-profit status for University of Phoenix.

U of I’s affiliation with University of Phoenix will unite the two institutions in a shared mission to illuminate and elevate students by expanding access to affordable, career-relevant online education.

University of Phoenix primarily serves students who are working adult learners, while U of I will remain Idaho’s land-grant, residential university serving primarily traditional learners.
