# Student engagement Connect, lead and make an impact through rewarding university initiatives, including our student organizations. ## Student and Alumni Leadership Council The Student and Alumni Leadership Council (SALC) empowers students to become leaders, advocates and changemakers by fostering a culture of collaboration. Through active engagement in university initiatives, council members amplify student voices, strengthen institutional connections and provide guidance on policies that support a strong community for everyone. Collaboratively, students, alumni and SMEs will explore topics on mindfulness and gratitude with the intention of productive discussions pertaining to their academic success. In this setting, students and alumni grow equipped to transform important and impactful conversations. ## Student Organizations Valuable lessons are learned both inside and outside the classroom, and getting involved is the best way to connect with campus life. Whether through honor societies, professional associations, academic interest groups or philanthropic organizations, participating in a Student Organization fosters personal growth, leadership development and career exploration. Each organization offers unique opportunities to build meaningful connections, expand your network and enhance your overall university experience. Most student organizations extend membership invitations during the spring and fall terms of each academic year. Individual inquiries are not reviewed. Instead, students are encouraged to await official email invitations from the organization or its advisor. Students who receive invitations have met the organization’s eligibility criteria, such as minimum GPA and/or credit completion requirements, outlined in the links below.
