## Frequently asked questions

### Is University of Phoenix an accredited university?

Yes, University of Phoenix has been continually accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), [hlcommission.org](https://www.hlcommission.org/) and its predecessor, since 1978.

[Accreditation](https://www.phoenix.edu/about_us/accreditation.html)

### How can my employer pay for tuition?

If you meet BHMT eligibility and policy requirements, BHMT may pay your tuition bill directly using the Employer-paid tuition benefit. If you qualify, this can reduce your need to rely on savings, federal loans, or other sources to pay for school. Speak with a Career Development Coach to learn the specific details of your tuition benefits plan.

**Here’s how the Employer-paid tuition benefit works:**

1. Contact a BHMT Career Development Coach to ensure you understand all the details of their tuition benefits plan,  your responsibilities, and what specific costs and how much of your costs are included.

2. BHMT will provide the University with the approval to start your program once you have completed all the steps.

3. Work with your University advisor to enroll in coursework.

4. Complete your coursework, meeting your employer’s grade requirements.

5. If BHMT eligibility and grade requirements are met, your tuition will be paid by BHMT to the University, possibly with no out-of-pocket cost for you!

### What resources are available to help me understand the cost of my education?

Once you’ve chosen your degree program and receive your BMHT approval, you will complete a financial plan that will estimate your costs and explore potential ways to pay for it.

### How do I confirm whether there are education benefits available for me?

[Speak with an enrollment representative](https://www.phoenix.edu/request/request-information) or a  BHMT Career Development Coach for more information about your education benefits. Identify  BHMT on your application and let your advisor know who you are employed with.

### Can I still go to school while working?

Yes. Our programs are designed specifically for working adults. With online classes, you can attend class online whenever it fits your life, day or night. You’ll also get support by phone, chat or email, available up to 20 hours a day, 5 days a week. And you can start your degree year-round, not just once a semester.

### How do I attend a class online?

Attending online class is easy because the classroom is always on 24/7/365. All you need is a reliable Internet connection. You simply log in to your virtual classroom to complete assignments, access course materials and resources, and interact with faculty and classmates. Class participation is graded based upon your contributions to online discussions. This is a great solution for students who might have a difficult time commuting and for those who learn better independently.

### How do I get started?

Applying is easy. [Start your application](https://www.phoenix.edu/application/quick-app/personal-info) and identify BHMT when asked. Or, [speak with an enrollment representative](https://www.phoenix.edu/request/request-information) and let them know who your employer is. Finally, confirm BHMT is selected as your employer in the University’s Student Portal financial plan before starting courses.
