The course builds on previous courses and has an emphasis on the differential diagnosis of and interventions for the care of children and adolescents with psychiatric symptoms. The clinical component focuses the nurse practitioner student on primary diagnostic and assessment skills needed to determine appropriate therapies for children and adolescents with neuropsychiatric/mental disorders.

Provides evidence-based psychopharmacological management of children and adolescents with neuropsychiatric/mental disorder diagnoses.

Pediatric Psychotherapy

Applies and /or refers for evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions for children and adolescents with neuropsychiatric/mental disorder diagnoses.

Pediatric Diagnosis

Integrates scientific knowledge and cultural context to develop diagnoses for children and adolescents with symptoms of neuropsychiatric/mental disorders.

Pediatric Assessment

Performs comprehensive assessments of children and adolescents with symptoms of neuropsychiatric/mental disorders.
