This course reviews various professional and ethical responsibilities of psychological researchers and practitioners. Students will study the APA Code of Ethics and analyze case studies involving assessment, research and practice in psychology. Topics include ethics in research, the purpose and function of internal review boards (IRBs), participant and client rights, informed consent, confidentiality, and the application of ethical decision-making models.

_This course provides a foundation of knowledge in the field of psychology. This course does not prepare students for any type of professional certification or licensure._

## Prerequisites

- [PSYCH/655 – Psychometrics](https://continuing-ed.phoenix.edu/course?courseCode=psych/655) or equivalent
- This graduate level course requires proof of completion of a Bachelor's degree.

(Evaluation of submitted requirements may take up to 72 hours to be approved.)
