An MBA degree stands for Master of Business Administration. This is a graduate degree that delves into the study of business management and administration. Courses focus on critical thinking and effective management so that MBA program graduates are prepared to lead organizations of any size into the future. You can choose a traditional MBA program that allows you to take one course at a time, or a competency-based MBA program designed for you to take several 16-week courses concurrently. Regardless of which program you choose, you’ll learn 33 career-relevant skills with our Master of Business Administration degrees.

A traditional MBA degree can be completed in 16 months. A competency-based MBA degree can be completed in as little as 12 months.

An online MBA lets you attend class whenever it fits your life—days or evenings.

You can choose either traditional or competency based. Select a degree that best fits your needs.

Choose a traditional online MBA if you:

  • Prefer a more traditional group setting
  • Have your bachelor's degree in any field

Choose a competency-based online MBA if you:

  • Prefer to learn independently and study on a flexible schedule

The University of Phoenix admission requirements include:

  • An undergraduate degree from an approved, college or university with institutional accreditation, or hold a comparable degree from a recognized institution outside the United States.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) as shown on the undergraduate degree posted transcript.
  • Must meet work experience requirements or have access to an organizational environment, depending on your selected degree program. Please contact an Enrollment Representative to learn if your program has such an admission requirement.
  • Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or hold an approved, valid visa if residing in the United States.

Yes, Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) is available for certain courses in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Management (MM) programs.  Currently there are three PLA options for the MBA and one PLA option for the MM.  To learn more on how you can potentially save time and money in your MBA or MM program, please reach out to your Enrollment Representative.
